
Bringing together more than 600 researchers from over 30 countries, the IUMRS-ICEM 2026: The International Union of Materials Research Societies –19th International Conference on Electronic Materials 2026 were co-organized by the Hub of Talents: Sustainable Materials for Circular Economy (HubSustainMat) and held from 28 June to 1 July 2026 at The Empress Convention Center, Chiang Mai.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Prof. Dr. Pongruk Sribanditmongkol, President of Chiang Mai University. In recognition of HubSustainMat’s contribution to the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sirithan Jiemsirilers accepted a Token of Appreciation on behalf of the HubSustainMat.

Throughout the conference, more than 300 oral and poster presentations across 15 scientific themes showcased the latest advances in sustainable materials, electronic materials, energy storage, biomaterials, quantum technologies, AI-enabled smart devices, and materials recycling—innovations expected to drive the next generation of research and industry.

Beyond scientific exchange, IUMRS-ICEM 2026 strengthened international research networks by fostering new collaborations and knowledge exchange. The conference also highlighted the vital role of cross-disciplinary materials research in shaping the future of sustainable materials and the circular economy.
