HubSustainMat Strengthens Research Collaboration from APAC 2025 to APCS-2

The 2nd Asia-Pacific Conference on Green Chemical Engineering and Sustainability (APCS-2) was held from 16–18 October 2026 at the Hilton Hotel Zhengzhou, Henan, China. Hosted by Henan University and the Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the conference followed the successful APAC Green & Sustain 2025, held in Bangkok, Thailand, in November 2025 and organized by the Hub of Talents: Sustainable Materials for Circular Economy (HubSustainMat) and PETROMAT.

This year, Prof. Hathaikarn Manuspiya, Head of HubSustainMat, chaired APCS-2 and delivered a plenary lecture titled “Tailoring Porous Bacterial Cellulose Janus Membranes for Sustainable Oil-Water Separation.” Other HubSustainMat members, including Prof. Boonyarach Kitiyanan, Asst. Prof. Bhumin Than-ardna, and Dr. Satita Thiangtham, also contributed through oral presentations showcasing research on green chemical recycling, CO2 capture, and biomass waste valorization.

The conference brought together researchers and experts to exchange knowledge and discuss advances in green chemical engineering and sustainability, featuring approximately 240 oral topics and more than 80 poster presentations.

The scientific program explored six key themes spanning green chemical processes, biomass and waste valorization, carbon capture, low-carbon technologies, energy materials, and AI-driven innovation. Additional forums and networking activities fostered knowledge exchange and strengthened engagement between researchers and industry professionals.
Building on the connections established through APAC Green & Sustain 2025, APCS-2 reflects the continued collaboration among academic institutions and research networks across the Asia-Pacific region. These ongoing relationships provide a foundation for advancing research and innovation in sustainable materials and circular economy solutions, while exploring the potential of green technologies and AI to support a more sustainable future.
