HubSustainMat and MTEC Join Forces to Build Thailand’s Industrial Waste Database

On February 13, 2025, Hub of Talents: Sustainable Materials for Circular Economy (HubSustainMat) held a collaborative meeting with the National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC), NSTDA, at Chula Research Building to explore new opportunities in developing a comprehensive industrial waste database.

The meeting, led by Prof. Hathaikarn Manuspiya (Head of HubSustainMat), Dr. Jitti Mungkalasiri, Ms. Pavinee Anusornsaree, and Ms. Rapeepun Rahong, highlighted HubSustainMat’s expertise in sustainable materials and MTEC’s specialization in transforming industrial waste into reusable raw materials and innovative products.

This collaboration aims to establish a unified national industrial waste database, creating an accessible platform for efficient waste utilization. By integrating data across sectors, this initiative will drive research and innovation in waste recycling and upcycling while supporting policy development for effective waste management.

Ultimately, the project seeks to advance the End of Waste (EoW) concept in Thailand—turning waste into valuable resources and accelerating the country’s transition toward a circular economy.
